Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
If you can dream it, you can create it.
I applied for a Master's in Health Communication at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH), because their Instagram was a breath of fresh air in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their social media was the industry standard among public health organizations, and I wanted to learn from the best.
As part of my Master's program, I had to find a "field placement" for my final year, in which students get six months of real-life experience with a public health organization. The BSPH social media team had never hired a student for a six-month field placement, but through my video work with Johns Hopkins' annual suicide prevention fundraiser, I was able to collaborate with the team in creating a full-time student position. It was the opportunity of a lifetime, and I was determined to make the most of it.
Below are some of the original content I produced during my time there.

Combining my backgrounds in character design and public health, I was tasked to design Barbies inspired by public health theory and the 100 Objects that Shaped Public Health.
02
Free Fall Date Ideas
With a bit of social engineering and TV drama, I created a flu shot reminder that got our Instagram audience talking in a good, if not very funny, way.

Primary Care in Pelican Town
How do you turn a stress-inducing topic, like prepping for a doctor's appointment, into something people want to talk about? Game-ify it.

SPHotify Wraparound Strategies
On social media, it's important to catch the wave of a trend. In this case, I worked with the team to produce a public health version of 2023's Spotify Wrapped— in less than a day.

Avatar: The Social Marketer
For my final project, I went "all out," writing, storyboarding, drawing, animating, and editing a parody of the opening of Avatar: The Last Airbender where the four elements are the four P's of social marketing: Price, Product, Promotion, and Place.
but wait, there's more!
Here are even more snippets of the content I made.
